Our Story
It all started with a trip to Hayward. Brent and Kristi fell in love with the charm of the area — the peaceful lakes, the inviting small-town feel, and the promise of a place where lasting family memories could be made. They dreamed of finding a getaway they could not only enjoy with their own family but also share with others for years to come.
But the story of these cabins begins a few years earlier. In 2019, Rob and Kara, who have long roots in the Hayward area, purchased the property when it was in shambles. With vision, determination, and a lot of heart, they brought it back to life — transforming it into the charming retreat it is today.
After looking at several properties, Brent and Kristi finally walked into the Cedar Cabin — and instantly knew it was something special. From the moment they stepped inside, it just felt like home. The warmth, craftsmanship, and cozy character of the cabin captured their hearts.
At the time, what is now the White Cabin was a simple three-season bunkhouse. Brent and Kristi loved the Cedar Cabin so much that they asked Rob and Kara if they’d consider finishing the White Cabin in the same beautiful style. As it turned out, Rob and Kara had always planned to complete it, and together, they brought that shared vision to life.
Along the way, the four became fast friends. Rob, a talented craftsman who grew up in the construction business, poured his pride and skill into every detail. Kara brought her creative vision, décor, and design expertise — turning each cabin into a warm, welcoming space that feels timeless and full of heart.
Today, Brent and Kristi are thrilled to share these cabins with others, hoping every guest feels the same peace, comfort, and connection that first drew them to Hayward.

FAQs
Why do you require both cabins to be booked during peak season?
We rent both cabins together to give guests full privacy and comfort while the dock is in the water. Since the cabins share the same lakefront and dock, we want guests to have exclusive access to the waterfront without sharing space. The dock is typically put in around May and taken out in mid-October, so during that time, booking both cabins ensures you have uninterrupted use of the dock and outdoor areas. Rest assured, you’ll always have the entire property to yourself during your stay during this time.
Can I rent just one cabin?
Yes! From November through May, guests can book either cabin individually or both together. During peak season (June–September), both cabins are rented together so guests can enjoy full privacy and exclusive access to the dock and shared outdoor spaces.
Is the dock available year-round?
The dock is typically put in around May and taken out in mid-October. During that time, guests have full access for swimming, fishing, or boating. In the off-season, the dock is stored for the winter, but you’ll still enjoy beautiful lake views and peaceful access to the shoreline.
Are pets allowed?
We do not allow pets. Sorry, but no exceptions.
What about parties or quiet hours?
Parties are not allowed out of respect for our neighbors. Quiet hours are between 10 PM-7AM. Basically, we ask that you are respectful of others around you.
What amenities are included?
Each cabin includes a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, bathroom with shower, Wi-Fi, smart TV, and plenty of games for cozy nights in. You’ll also find a Pack ’n Play, Weber gas grill, patio table with chairs, firewood and beach towels for lake days. The White Cabin additionally includes a washer and dryer. Both cabins share access to the private dock, fire pit, and outdoor spaces. The outdoor shed has stand up paddleboards (2), a lily pad, lifejackets, bag boards, etc.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is at 4:00 PM, and check-out is at 10:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request, depending on availability.
Can I bring my own boat?
Yes! There is a public boat launch less than a mile down the road and you can tie it on our dock. Or you can rent a boat for your time as well. Everything is laid out in our guest book with share with you before your stay!
What about parking?
Each cabin has it's own driveway with plenty of room for vehicles as well as ATV/snowmobile/boat trailers.
